Right-Click Context Menus: Work Faster with Custom Actions

Speed is everything when you are managing multiple projects at once. That is why we shipped context menus — the fastest way to act on any item in your workspace.

What Are Context Menus?

Right-click (or long-press on mobile) any card, task, note, or list item and a menu appears with the most useful actions for that item. No more hunting through modals or sidebar panels.

What You Can Do

Context menus are context-aware — the options change based on what you are right-clicking:

On a Kanban Card:

  • Edit title or description
  • Move to a different column or board
  • Duplicate the card
  • Add/remove labels and assignees
  • Delete

On a Task:

  • Mark as complete
  • Set due date
  • Change priority
  • Move to a different list
  • Delete

On a Note:

  • Open in full editor
  • Export as Markdown
  • Duplicate
  • Delete

Keyboard Navigation

Context menus are fully keyboard-accessible. Open with Shift+F10 (or right-click), navigate with arrow keys, and confirm with Enter. Press Escape to dismiss.

Why This Matters

Before context menus, common actions required opening a detail modal, scrolling to the right section, and clicking through several steps. Now you can do the same thing in two clicks — or one keyboard shortcut.

For power users managing boards with dozens of cards, this is a significant speed boost.

Context menus are live now for all Monospace users. Try it: right-click anything in your workspace.
